Asbestos Case Study – WCH

West Coast Thermal Ltd completed works at West Cumberland Hospital to remove asbestos insulation residue from the walls, floor and ceiling following an environmental clean. an environmental clean is known as ” the removal of asbestos contamination consisting of loose, non-adhered dust, or friable debris which can be removed using an H class vacuum, damp rags or tak rags.”  As you can see from the pictures below the West Coast Thermal Ltd team set up an enclosure which includes an airlock, bag lock and signs indicating the route in which the bagged asbestos must be taken in order to reach the skip and a transit route which directs the operatives to the showers these routes tend to be the fastest and most direct routes to ensure the operatives aren’t going anywhere they shouldn’t. This job was under the direction of supervisor Lee Reynolds and contracts manager Stuart Barnett.
